Dr. Connie So and film-maker Kevin Owyang were featured speakers for the Humanities Washington's "Think and Drink" two-part series, "Loud & Proud: WA State's Asian American Civil Rights Movement," held in October of 2014.  Dr. So, who grew up in Seattle, spoke on the impact of local segregationist practices that (unintentionally) resulted in the fostering of coalitions among various Asian American groups and other people of color in the decades following the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  The event was moderated by Tonya Mosley, Journalist with Al Jazeera America, The Huffington Post and KUOW.
