Bugs and Beasts Before the Law

"Bugs and Beasts Before the Law Colloquium" at the Henry Art Gallery, 2020.
The Bugs & Beasts Before the Law Colloquium at the Henry Art Gallery imagines and explores possibilities for survival and liberation for those whose protections are limited or whose personhood is compromised, oppressed, or threatened within sociolegal systems. This colloquium takes inspiration from an experimental essay film titled Bugs & Beasts Before the Law by Bambitchell, the artistic collaboration of Sharlene Bamboat and Alexis Kyle Mitchell." The colloquium is organized by Nina Bozicnik (Curator, Henry Art Gallery), Mita Mahato (Associate Curator of Public and Youth Programs, Henry Art Gallery), and Carolyn Pinedo-Turnovsky (Associate Professor of American Ethnic Studies, UW).
