RACE RELATIONS HOW DOES RACE CONTINUE TO AFFECT PREVAILING PATTERNS OF SOCIAL LIFE IN THE US? MOREOVER, WHAT IS RACE ANYWAY, IS IT BIOLOGICAL OR CULTURAL, REAL, OR IMAGINARY? IN THIS COURSE, WE WILL SURVEY THE SOCIOLOGICAL MEANINGS AND PRACTICES OF RACE AND ETHNICITY AND THEIR RELATION TO THE ENDURING AND ELABORATE FORCES RACISM(S). OUR GOA WILL BE TO OUTLINE, DISCUSS, AND MAKE SENSE OF THE SOCIAL SALIENCE O RACIAL RELATIONS IN THE PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE.
